Fresh Field – Post 1

I am honored to present to you Mr. Lawrence and his Fresh Fields Community project.

Fresh Fields is located in the Mwandi District of the Western province of Zambia.  The project started in April 2020 when Zambia, along with the rest of the world, went on lockdown due to Covid-19.  The objective of the project was to teach farming skills to young boys and girls.  The project started with 8 children but the community quickly became interested in the project and after the lockdown, 10 more children joined.  Now there are 28 children involved in the project, 17 boys and 11 girls.  In addition to learning agricultural skills, they grow vegetables such as tomatoes and cabbage.

Mr. Lawrence is a teacher by trade but lives as a farmer, so a better coach can hardly be found for the children.  It must be noticed that all the work Mr. Lawrence puts into this project is voluntary.  The children meet in his garden and use his land.  If anyone is interested in supporting Mr. Lawrence or learning more about the Fresh Fields project, please comment here below, write to me or call on WhatsApp, and I’ll get you in touch with Mr. Lawrence directly.

Shortly I’ll be telling you more about Mr. Lawrence and his group.  What they have been doing and the current status of the project.
